Thermal spa springs were discovered in 762; however the first authentic mention about the coty occurred in 11th century. Spa city Teplice were well-known among wealthy bourgeois like Emperors tsar Peter the Great, Joseph II. And Leopold II., kings Frederick William III of Prussia or Empress Sisi; musicians like Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Wagner and Chopin or poets like Johann Wolfgang Goethe. Spa city was also favourite place of Bohemian figures of cultural and social life.
Up to the World War II the city Teplice was known for its high cultural life and classical architecture and was nicknamed as “Small Paris”.
City Teplice is nowadays lively, modern spa town. Thanks to its healing thermal springs it is possible to treat cardiovascular diseases, difficulties from oncological illness, metabolism disorders, locomotory diseases and nervous disorders.
